If you love a good spreadsheet, look no further! Here’s how to participate in the CGC Volunteer-A-Thon via the digital route. Now that you’re registered, here’s what comes next.

Create Your Personalized Page

Your sponsors will use your personal page on our platform to make their donations. Click here to get started. If you have questions orneed assistance, please reach out to Erin (esigmund@civicgardencenter.org) or Victoria (volunteer@civicgardencenter.org). 

Be sure to save the link to your fundraising page once you've created it! You can also find it again by clicking on the "get started" link above and scrolling down to the list of people who are fundraising forthe campaign. The confirmation email from our fundraising platform will also include a link. 

Find Some Sponsors

Download a pledge sheet to your desktop or add it to the online file system of your choice. Ask your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, classmates, or anyone else who might support you to sign up. There are three different ways to sponsor:

  • A dollar amount per hour that you volunteer with the CGC, to be donated at the conclusion of the Volunteer-A-Thon (e.g., $10 per hour x 12 completed hours  =  $120 total donation)

  • A dollar amount per workday that you volunteer with the CGC, to be donated at the conclusion of the Volunteer-A-Thon (e.g., $10 per workday x 3 completed workdays  =  $30 total donation)

  • A flat amount in honor of your service regardless of how much you volunteer, which can be donated at any point during the Volunteer-A-Thon or at its conclusion (e.g., $10 flat amount  =  $10 total donation)

Record each person's name, contact information, and pledge on your pledge sheet so that you can calculate their totals and let them know how much to donate at the end of the Volunteer-A-Thon. If they want to donate a lump sum up front, they can do that at any time using the personalized page you set up.

Download a participation tracker to your desktop or add it to the online file system of your choice, then volunteer with the CGC and record your hours! Check out our upcoming volunteer opportunities—they all count for the Volunteer-A-Thon. If you're part of the Dirt Crew, Board of Directors, or other ongoing volunteer position, that counts as well.

Next Steps

Watch your email for monthly updates. These messages will include new volunteering opportunities, shout-outs to participants, raffle and reward winners, and other useful information.
