The 2025 CGC Volunteer-A-Thon

Volunteering your time and talents is an amazing gift to the CGC. Now you can make your efforts go even farther with our first-ever Volunteer-A-Thon by recruiting sponsors who are willing to donate to the CGC in support of the hours you invest. Read on to find out how it works and to sign up!

Step 1: Register

This is how we’ll know you’re participating so we can keep you in the loop and send you all the links and information you’ll need.

Step 2: Get Sponsors

Print out or download a copy of the pledge sheet we’ll send you after you register, then ask your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, classmates or anyone else who might support you to sign up. They can sponsor you a dollar amount per hour or workday that you volunteer with the CGC, or they can pledge a flat amount—whatever they prefer.

Step 3: Set Up Your Page

Using our platform, you’ll create a personalized page that your sponsors will use to make their donations at the end of the event.

Step 4: Volunteer!

From Friday, August 8, 2025 to early November (end date TBD based on scheduling), volunteer with the CGC in a community garden, on our grounds, facilitating a field trip, helping run the Fall Native Plant Festival, restoring a greenspace—and even two very special projects with the Landbank and Talbert House. Keep track of your hours using the spreadsheet we’ll provide or another system you prefer so you can let your sponsors know the total at the end of the Volunteer-A-Thon.

Step 5: Tally Your Hours

When the Volunteer-A-Thon ends, tally up your hours, then send each sponsor the total amount of their pledge and a link to the personalized donation page you created in Step 3.

Step 6: Celebrate!

Come celebrate the end of an amazing season with us at our winter open house on the evening of Friday, December 5. We can’t thank you enough for all you do to support the CGC!
