Hands On at Hauck

  • Civic Garden Center 2715 Reading Rd Cincinnati, OH, 45206 United States (map)

Come spend a morning in the garden with us!

Join CGC Horticulturist Julie for some hands-on gardening experience at Hauck Botanic Garden. This 100-year-old public park serves as our outdoor classroom and the backdrop for everything we do—and it’s all thanks to volunteers like you!

June rhymes with prune, and this month, it’s all about pruning back our summer perennials to promote shorter stems and more plentiful flowers. We’ll be doing the native plant version of the Chelsea Chop around the park as well as keeping up with those pesky weeds.

No prior knowledge or skills needed. Whether you’re totally new to gardening or have many years of experience this workday is for you! The ability to kneel and use hand tools is recommended but not required. Please bring gloves if you have them and a water bottle. Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you’re comfortable getting dirty. All other tools and materials will be provided.

Want to join us? Make sure you’re registered as a CGC volunteer, then…

Please reach out to volunteer@civicgardencenter.org with any questions.
