Are you ready to transform your passion for dirt into meaningful community action? Registration is open for our annual Civic Gardener Development Training (CGDT)—right here at the CGC!
Running from January through April, this free 12-session series is designed to build the next generation of urban agriculture leaders in Cincinnati. Whether you want to revitalize a vacant lot, grow food for your neighborhood, or manage a thriving community site, this program provides the ultimate toolkit.
Our comprehensive curriculum covers everything you need to cultivate change, including:
Civic Engagement & Project Funding: Learn how to organize neighbors and secure resources.
Organic Vegetable Gardening & Seed Saving: Master the art of growing food from seed to harvest—and keeping those seeds for next year.
Orchard Basics & Regenerative Agriculture: Build healthy, living soil and care for perennial food systems.
Construction Techniques: Gain hands-on skills for building raised beds and garden infrastructure.
Urban agriculture does so much more than put fresh, organic food on our tables. It cools our city, heals our soils, and weaves fragmented neighborhoods into tight-knit communities. By joining this cohort, you aren't just learning how to plant a row of crops. You’re stepping up to guide Cincinnati toward a greener, more resilient, more food-secure future.
Applications for the upcoming cohort are open, and spots fill up quickly. Get all the details and submit your application—and let’s grow together!
