Feed the People by Cofi

By Cofi Higgins

Greetings, I’m Cofi (pronounced like the beverage), and I would love for you to join me at my exhibition this fall at the Contemporary Arts Center.

Have you ever thought about the connection between a food forest, sustainability, and herbal teas? That’s exactly what we will be exploring this September. Meet me on the bottom floor of the CAC for this divine design. I’ll probably be the one with all of the flowers on.

In this eight-layer food forest ecosystem, tea is both the harvest and the heritage. It’s a way to preserve the flavor, fragrance and wellness of the land in beautiful vintage tea cups or even a French press. From canopy herbs to ground layer blooms, each food forest layer offers something that can be dried, steeped and sipped to make us well. I’m transforming the idea of plants into a sensory experience that continues long after the exhibition ends.

There is something for the children, too, with superfoods, superheroes and maybe even capes. Yes, the entire family can come to Feed the People By Cofi, a Co-Lab Exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center from September 11-28, to enjoy meaningful dialogue and the whimsical, colorful creativity of a woman who was born, raised and still stays here in Cincinnati.

Also, keep an eye out for classes at the Civic Garden Center! I’ll be teaching an Immunity Boosting Smoothie Workshop on September 23 and a class on how to make festive holiday jams in November. Make sure you’re subscribed to the CGC’s eNews to hear when registration opens for both!
