Viburnum dentatum ‘Synnestvedt’
Chicago Lustre Arrowwood Viburnum
This multi-stemmed shrub can reach 10 feet in height.
It produces white flowers in spring that are highly attractive to pollinators and metallic blue berries in fall that are eaten by birds.
Grows in full to part sun and moist, well-drained soil.
This cultivar was discovered as a seedling at the Morton Arboretum. Its name comes from its shiny foliage and berries.
Horticulturist’s Notes: Arrowwood gets its name from its long straight branches that were used as arrow shafts by some Native Americans.
