Viburnum dentatum ‘Synnestvedt’
Chicago Lustre Arrowwood Viburnum

  • This multi-stemmed shrub can reach 10 feet in height.

  • It produces white flowers in spring that are highly attractive to pollinators and metallic blue berries in fall that are eaten by birds.

  • Grows in full to part sun and moist, well-drained soil.

  • This cultivar was discovered as a seedling at the Morton Arboretum. Its name comes from its shiny foliage and berries. 

  • Horticulturist’s Notes: Arrowwood gets its name from its long straight branches that were used as arrow shafts by some Native Americans.
