Tsuga canadensis ‘Sargentii’
Sargent’s Weeping Hemlock

  • Named for one of America’s first horticulturists, this slow-growing evergreen has drooping branches and can tolerate sun or shade.

  • Depending on how it was grafted, it may grow as a sprawling shrub or small tree reaching heights of around 20 feet.

  • Prefers moist, well-drained soil.

  • Hemlocks are cold tolerant but struggle in hot, dry summers and are susceptible to the hemlock wooly adelgid.
