A warm-season perennial bunchgrass with impressive ornamental qualities. It is native to the central and western prairies and is salt tolerant, drought and flood tolerant, and grows quickly to 2 ft high in full sun.
Deer resistant, like most native grasses.
The abundant seeds are edible raw or cooked and can be ground into flour or made into mush.
