Phlox paniculata
Garden Phlox
Many cultivars of this erect native perennial exist featuring flowers of all sizes and colors, most commonly pink, white or lavender.
The mid-summer blooms are loved by butterflies and hummingbirds.
It commonly forms clumps about 2 to 4 feet tall.
Does best with some afternoon shade and moist, rich soil.
Horticulturist’s Notes: Cut down stems in late fall and remove from the garden to control powdery mildew.
