Magnolia x 'Butterflies'
Butterfly Magnolia
A cross between Yulan magnolia and cucumber magnolia, this small ornamental tree has creamy yellow flowers in early spring.
Blooms will last a full week if they don’t get hit by a spring frost, and the tree is hardy to both heat and cold.
It prefers full sun or part shade and rich, well-draining soil.
Horticulturist’s Notes: Butterfly magnolia has a delicate root system that does not handle disturbance well. Choose a planting site carefully and avoid digging around canopy after tree is established.
