Can be a small tree or large shrub, depending on how it is pruned or if it was grafted.
Large conical summer flowers are attractive to generalist pollinators and linger into winter once dried.
It prefers morning sun and moist, well-drained soil.
Prune in late winter to about a third of the current size.
Tolerant of urban conditions.
