Hydrangea arborescens ‘Annabelle’
Annabelle Hydrangea

  • This popular cultivar of the native smooth hydrangea has massive white flower clusters that last from early summer all the way until fall, then remain as attractive dried flower heads through winter.

  • Its straight stems grow about 3 feet tall and spread to reach 5 feet wide.

  • It prefers part shade and moist, well-drained soil.

  • Drought will cause this plant to dramatically wilt, although it can perk back up after watering.

  • Horticulturist’s Notes: Prune Annabelle to the ground in late winter to encourage vigorous stems growth and large flowers.
