This fast-growing medium sized shrub produces large showy flowers in summer.
These blooms are followed by oval seed capsules that spread new Rose-of-Sharon through the garden and even into natural areas.
Native to China, this plant is now considered invasive in many states. Still, dozens of cultivars continue to be sold.
Tolerant of a wide range of conditions.
Deer resistant and drought tolerant.
Should not be planted.
