Growing Our Teachers

Growing Our Teachers is a cohort-based professional development opportunity for teachers to take their school gardens to the next level and further integrate Farm to School education into their schools. The training takes place over nine monthly sessions (October to June) that cover a range of topics to empower educators and build peer-to-peer support.

The goal of this professional development opportunity is to build a cohort of 10-15 educators who are empowered to integrate school garden education in their schools on a regular basis and support each other as well as other educators to enhance agriculture, nutrition, and environmental education equitably across the region. The training takes place over nine sessions covering a range of topics including garden planning and design, school garden tours, outdoor classroom management, school garden best management practices, nutrition education, curricular connections, and strengthening equity and inclusivity in programming and our community.
