Introduction to Conservation

  • The Civic Garden Center 2715 Reading Road Cincinnati, OH, 45206 United States (map)

Curious about conservation? This class is for you!

If you want to be more involved in conservation efforts but don't know where to start, this class will give you the basics. Together, we’ll discuss ecology and the importance of ongoing efforts at the Civic Garden Center, conduct a basic ecological survey using our gardens and practice a simple biodiversity exercise using trees and vegetation sampling. You'll dip your toe into field skills like species identification and data collection and learn about how you can play a part in conservation efforts.

No experience required. We encourage all those who are interested to join! This class is also designed to encourage graduating high school students and undergraduate students who are interested but unsure about pursuing this field professionally.

INSTRUCTOR: Luis Aguilar-Dwyer, CGC Environmental Education Specialist
