Plant pressing is more than just a creative hobby—it’s a way to document, appreciate and preserve the rich biodiversity that surrounds us; to connect with nature, slow down and truly observe the intricate details of plants that often go unnoticed. By learning how to press plants, we can foster a deeper connection with local ecosystems and contribute to a greater understanding of plant life.
In this introductory class, join the CGC's Luis Aguilar-Dwyer to learn the fundamentals of plant preservation and get some hands-on experience in the garden. No prior experience needed! We'll have a walking tour of the garden, pick flowers from agricultural crops and pollinator plants, then see a demonstration of how to press the flowers or leaves during the class. You'll take home a card with pressed botanical materials.
Open to the public and FREE with code HUB2025! However, please register so that we can notify you in case of weather-related schedule changes.
This class will be held at the Mt. Airy Community Garden: 5536 Colerain Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45239.
