Conservation Conversations: The State of Our Forest

  • The Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati 523 Oak St Cincinnati, OH, 45219 United States (map)

Do you enjoy talking about plants, ecology, and conservation? Join Civic Garden Center staff and the Cincinnati Park’s conservation team to talk about conservation in our public parks. Our first session will take a closer look at the state of forests right here in Cincinnati. What are we doing well? Where are we falling short? Participants will guide the conversation as we cover topics including invasive plants and pests, native plants and trees, the importance of our urban forests, and what you can do to take action. This event is BYOB and will take place outside at the CGC, weather permitting.

Registrants will be invited to join us the Sunday following the event for a hike in a local forest to keep the conversation going. We will choose a public park to meet at based on the topics we covered that week to take a closer look at both the good and the bad of our local forests.

Cost: $5 or Free for Active Volunteers
Instructor: Greg Torres & Drew Goebel, Conservation Technicians for the Cincinnati Parks Department
