Eranthis hyemalis
Winter Aconite
This small bulb is native to Europe and is one of the very earliest plants to flower.
Produces low-growing, dense, bright yellow blooms in late winter or early spring.
It will self-seed and spread throughout the landscape and, while beautiful, should be watched carefully for its potential to become invasive.
Prefers full to part sun and rich, moist soil.
Toxic if ingested.
Deer resistant.
