Canna x generalis
Canna Lily

  • This tropical-feeling perennial is a hybrid of South American and Indian varieties.

  • It grows up to 6 feet tall and can spread slightly over time through rhizomes.

  • Prefers full sun and moist soil.

  • Produces large summer flowers in a variety of colors.

  • Horticulturist’s Notes: Cannas do well in hot, humid weather but do not always survive Cincinnati winters. Rhizomes should be dug up in fall and stored somewhere cool and dry until spring.
