Asclepias speciosa
Showy Milkweed
Similar to common milkweed, but less aggressive, this native perennial grows about 3 feet tall and produces fragrant pink flowers in summer.
These blooms are followed by long green seed pods that crack open in fall to release silky fluff.
Prefers full sun and dry soil.
Milkweed is the only food source for monarch caterpillars.
Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
