  • This native perennial grows best in part shade and dry soil.

  • Its spring flowers bloom on 2-foot-tall stems and quickly lose their white petals, leaving only the central green “thimble” behind. This thimble dissolves into cottony fluff in late fall.

  • Foliage has red fall color as well.

  • Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
