A native prairie perennial that can spread through rhizomes and self-seeding to form hardy clumps in the garden.
Grows 2-4 feet tall.
Produces short spikes of purple flowers in summer that are highly attractive to pollinators and both they and the foliage are edible with a minty licorice flavor.
Prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
