Mary facilitates educational programming for teens and adults focused on sharing the amazing resources showcased in our Green Learning Station facility. She also supports the work of fellow team members as they engage with native and edible plant propagation, middle and high school field studies and habitat restoration. Mary has filled several roles at CGC since 2008 and began her most recent position in July of 2022.

Mary is a passionate educator whose career has taken her around the country, from Cincinnati to Seattle to Boulder to Coral Gables and back. She strives to bring environmental education to students of all ages who seek to integrate nature into their daily lives and classroom curriculum. Prior to rejoining the CGC team, Mary worked as the agriculture education teacher at James N. Gamble Montessori High School in the Cincinnati Public School District for five years. She puts her advanced degrees in botany and workforce development education, as well as her Montessori secondary I-II credential and Permaculture Design Certificate, to good use!

Mary has two young children, and her family has lived in Westwood near Montana Ridge for more than a decade. When she’s not teaching, Mary enjoys tending her backyard chickens and looking for beautiful wildflowers in Mt. Airy forest.
