Building Community Award

Coming March of 2019


Description:  The “Building Community” award is designed to recognize individuals in the Greater Cincinnati area whose life and/or work exemplifies the mission of the Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati to build community through gardening, education, and environmental stewardship.  This is an annual award, and will normally be presented at a special event held in late winter/early spring.  Honorees will receive a special gift and be featured in the CGC newsletter.  Proceeds from the event will be added to the CGC unrestricted endowment which supports CGC’s core programs.


Nomination Process:  Nominations are to be submitted by November 1st to the Development Director for the Civic Garden Center.  Additional letters of support for nominees are encouraged.  Current members of CGC’s staff or Board of Directors are not eligible to be nominated.


Decision Process:  All nominations will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the Civic Garden Center.   The decision on person(s) to be honored will be made no later than December 1st for the following year’s award.   The decision committee may be comprised of representatives from the CGC staff, Board, and volunteer base.
