In an English inspired town-house in the heart of historic Mariemont, Ohio, Elizabeth Ross creates unique one-of-a-kind prints on fabric and paper inspired by eastern European folk art and Scandinavian mid-century modern design.
After a short sabbatical working as a fine art oil painter, this young mother of three began sketching designs which would eventually find their way onto organic fabrics. “I find inspiration in nature, my children, trips to the farmers market and creating a home for my family,” Elizabeth shares.
There is nothing simple about her design process but the results are refreshingly clean and uncomplicated. “There is so much chaos and noise in the world, I want to create pieces that are calming, beautiful to look at and practical. Definitely practical, “she laughs. “This is usable art. Use my fabric designs without fear. Enjoy their happy designs and don’t worry about their care, just wash and go- they get better with time.”
Elizabeth uses non-toxic, water-based inks and organic fabrics.
