Join CGC horticultural staff in working on our grounds, Hauck Botanic Gardens. Volunteers will help with garden maintenance including planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, seed collecting and more! Please bring a reusable water bottle, gloves (if you have them), and a mask, pants and long sleeves are encouraged. All other tools and materials will be provided.

“A Garden Photography Primer” will focus on understanding light, the three types of garden photos and specific techniques for composition and the making of memorable images. It is designed for all levels of photographers, from beginners, to hobbyists, to professionals. After the workshop attendees will have the opportunity to apply these concepts by shooting in the seven acres of the Civic Garden Center. The workshop will last for approximately two hours.

CLASS: Fall Harvest Cooking Series @ Civic Garden Center

The fall brings along an abundance of vegetables from the garden. We love making hearty fall stews to put your harvest to good use. Cook along in this class with LaSoupe to make a West African Peanut Chicken Stew. Each participant will make enough stew to taste right away as well as take home with you.

NOTE: This class is limited to 10 cook-along stations which can be used by one participant or shared by two if you are attending with someone you know. Let us know on the registration form if you are planning to share a cooking station.

Join us in restoring Walnut Woods, directly adjacent to Walnut Hills HS. This workday will focus on removing invasive species and improving the trail system. We hope to see you there!

CLASS: Fall Favorites from the Mediterranean @ Civic Garden Center

CLASS: Fall Favorites from the Mediterranean @ Civic Garden Center | Cincinnati | Ohio | United States

Fall flavors abound in this class that uses the principles of the Mediterranean Diet to cook a delicious, healthy meal. We’ll stuff grape leaves and talk about how to forage, make a delicious lemon lentil and chard soup, dig into a classic winter squash recipe by famed Israeli chef Yotam Ottolenghi that is perfect for Thanksgiving, and of course, finish with our famous baklava. We’ll taste olive oil and spices, and feast on nuts and cheeses from the Eastern Mediterranean.
