Observation Date: April 26, 2016
Temperature 76°F, Low 59° partly sunny.
The weeds are here! Ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea), Dandelions, Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule), Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis). Dig them out when they’re small before they take over. Use straw to cover the ground and to keep more weeds from coming up. And maybe see how many weeds your students can carefully pull?
The greens and other veggie plants are doing well during this warm, dry spring. Make sure you keep them hydrated. To check if they need water, stick your finger in the ground. If it comes out clean without soil sticking to it, it’s time to water.
The bright red of the radishes is poking up out of the ground. We’ll maybe give them one more week before we harvest.
