Carrots & Seeds, Oh My!

Weather: 81°F Partly Cloudy (Low 61°F)

This week finally brought enjoyable weather to the Cincinnati region. Morning garden work was enjoyable and productive. We’ve been harvesting carrots this week along with spinach and arugula seeds. We are eating the carrots fresh and giving them some pizzazz with a few minutes in a hot skillet and adding some garlic, parsley and honey. The seeds we’ve harvested are now drying on a screen in our office. We hope to test the germination rate in a few weeks-stay tuned! We’ve also put in our large bulk order for fall planting seeds. Be sure email us at youtheducation@civicgardencenter.org and join our network so you don’t miss out on our free seed giveaway this August.

Happy Summer!!!
