West End Community Garden

Adopted by A Friend of the Civic Garden Center

The West End Community Garden was built in 1990.  In 2005 it was refurbished with new raised beds, water system, a pergola built by Cincinnati State Landscape Construction class, and a shelter built by inmates from Warren Correctional Institute. In 2013 the garden underwent a renovation including the restoration of garden beds, a newly redesigned composting system and the restoration and expansion of edible landscaping.

The West End Community Garden is gardened by area residents and children from the neighborhood youth center. There are also community beds cared for by the West Cincinnati Presbyterian Church and the Society of St Vincent de Paul food pantry. Civic Garden Center gratefully acknowledges the support of a friend of Civic Garden Center for their Adopt-a-Garden sponsorship of the West End Community Garden.
