History

•  Established in 1999 as a Children's Garden (previously used as an adult community garden)

•  Is currently managed/maintained by Civic Garden Center staff

•  Contains numerous raised vegetable and theme beds, cooperatively planted, maintained and harvested by the Summer Sprouts gardeners. Bordering flower gardens are also planted by youth gardeners.

•  The lots that the garden occupies are owned by the City of Cincinnati and Richard Monaghan, who lease the land to us at no cost – just maintenance of the garden.

•  On May 31 of 2007, the garden will open for the season. The garden hours are Thursday and Sunday from 3-5 pm. All children are welcome!
